Friday — Bristol. The Watershed hosts a poetry night curated by Bristol-Caribbean Voices, a programme that's been running quietly since 2018 and consistently delivers the most thoughtful spoken-word evenings in the South West. £8, doors at 7.
Friday — London. On Belonging, the new essay collection from a Guyanese-British writer whose first book made the Times of-the-year list, launches at Foyles on Charing Cross Road. Reading at 7, signing afterwards. Free but ticketed.
Saturday — Brooklyn. Eastern Parkway will close briefly for a block party celebrating ten years of a small West Indian community press. Live steelband from 2pm. Free.
Saturday — Port of Spain. A listening session for a long-awaited Trinidadian album that's been finished for eighteen months and only now finding its release. The artist will be there. Tickets via the venue.
Sunday — Toronto. The Caribbean Tales Film Festival closes with the Canadian premiere of a documentary about a Jamaican photographer whose archive was nearly lost to a flood. 6.30 at the TIFF Lightbox. Tickets going fast.
